Get Discounts on Your Energy Bill

Our California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) program recognizes that everyday expenses impact some households more than others. CARE can help reduce energy bills for eligible customers by up to 30%.

Lower Your Family’s Monthly Bill

Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) can help reduce energy bills by 18% for qualified households of 3 or more. Apply to FERA with the same 2-minute application as our CARE program.

How can I save on energy
for my household?

Save on Medical Equipment Energy Use

We understand that if you or someone in your household uses electrically-powered medical equipment, your energy source becomes even more important. That’s why Medical Baseline Allowance provides an additional 16.5 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity per day at the lowest baseline rate to help offset the cost of operating your medical equipment.

We’ll Help Pay for Upgraded Appliances

With our Energy Saving Assistance program (ESA), qualifying customers can upgrade to energy-efficient appliances for little to no cost. Not only does the program cover or significantly offset the cost of new appliances, including installation, but the appliances themselves will help reduce your monthly bills.

What if I can’t pay
my bill on time?

Pay Your Bill Over Time

Payment arrangements can help you manage your energy costs when life gets complicated. We'll work with eligible customers to create a payment plan that spreads the amount over time, even up to 12 months. If you’ve previously had a payment arrangement, you’re eligible to apply again.

Debt Forgiveness for CARE/FERA Customers

Customers who are enrolled in our CARE/FERA programs and have qualifying past-due bills may be able to participate in our Arrearage Management Plan (AMP). AMP will forgive up to $8,000 in eligible late payments.

Get Help from Your Community

We believe in neighbors helping neighbors. Our Energy Assistance Fund (EAF) is SCE’s non-profit fund that helps us put community first. Qualifying customers can receive one-time monetary assistance with their energy bill. We work with over 80 community-based organizations to make applying easy and accessible.

Take Advantage of Federal Assistance

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), offered by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, provides additional federally funded assistance for home energy costs. Find out how LIHEAP can help your household.

All of these programs are currently open and have rolling applications, so you can apply any time.

Our customers have different needs, which is why we offer a wide range of programs so that every household can find the right support. Some programs, such as CARE/FERA, have income requirements and require an application, whereas tools like Buget Assistant are available to any SCE customer who signs up for My Account.
